About the collection
Curves from the Kefalonia coast
Wilkinson found his starting point in Fiskardo, a fishing town at the northern tip of the Greek island of Kefalonia, where summer days go to watching sailboats come and go from the port. Fllair takes its soft but sculpted curves from the rocky shore, the kind of recess you might find in the cliffs and claim for an afternoon.
A braided weave covers the curved forms of both pieces. The armchair looks solid, but the exaggerated flare at its edges holds your body the way a pocket in the rock would. Wilkinson wanted people to like the graphic look first, then notice the detailing once they sit down and use the chair and the table.
The weave comes in a trio of shades, and Sahara and Mahagony are two of the names Dedon lists. You can add seat and back cushions to the armchair, with fabric families such as Natura, Caleo, Tucson, Gaia, Muse, Nube and Borneo. Dedon built Fllair to handle the weather, from a small alcove to a large terrace.
Clean the weave with a soft cloth or brush, warm water and a mild cleanser. Put coasters under glasses on the table, and wipe off wine, citrus or soda right away. Alcohol and solvents can damage or discolor the surface, so leave them out of your cleaning kit.

Samuel Wilkinson
London designer Samuel Wilkinson trained in furniture and product design and looks for new takes on everyday objects. He puts weight on craft, detail and sustainability, and Fllair is his first collection for Dedon.
